What determines the cost of Christmas light installation?

Every display is custom-quoted. Learn what shapes your quote — from roofline length and stories to architectural complexity, display scope, service, and lighting ownership.

A bigger home doesn't automatically mean a bigger display.

Prosper includes newer master-planned communities with larger-format, often multi-story homes, but the right Christmas display still depends on what you actually want lit. A clean roofline-only outline and a fully layered elevation are very different scopes on the same house.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTING FOR PROSPER HOMES

Your property's geometry sets the starting point.

Where a Prosper home has more roofline footage, multiple peaks, or larger front elevations, the design needs to account for story count, access, and architectural complexity before the quote can be accurate.

We don’t resize a generic package for a bigger house. We ask for photos and an address — or schedule a site visit when the property needs a closer look.

Four things that can shape your display.

These are real planning variables that may come up on larger or newer Prosper properties. They are a framework for scoping your home — not a claim that every Prosper property fits the profile.

01

Longer rooflines & more stories

More linear footage means more lighting material. More stories can also mean additional equipment and labor to reach the installation areas.

02

Peaks & gables

Multiple peaks and angle changes take more time to light cleanly than a simple single-ridge roofline.

03

Front elevations & entry features

Larger front elevations, columns, and covered entries can create more opportunities for a layered display if that is the direction you want.

04

Landscaping maturity

Newer sections may still have developing landscaping, which can affect how much shrub or landscape lighting makes sense compared with roofline-focused scope.

WHY DFW OUTDOOR LIGHTING CO. IN PROSPER

Complex homes need careful scoping, not a bigger template.

When roofline size and architectural complexity increase, the useful starting point is an accurate property-specific plan.

We confirm the story count.

Story count affects equipment, access, labor, and the practical scope of the installation.

We look at the full roofline.

Photos help identify length, peaks, gables, angle changes, and the areas you actually want illuminated.

We consider access before committing to scope.

More complex properties may need a site visit rather than being quoted from limited front-facing photos alone.

We design around what you want to highlight.

A large property can still look best with a clean roofline-only approach. Size does not dictate display complexity.

Your quote reflects the actual property.

Roofline length, stories, peaks, trees, shrubs, columns, wreaths, garland, and overall display complexity all contribute to scope.

A clear process for a more complex property.

The steps stay consistent. What changes is the amount of property information needed to scope the project accurately.

01

Request your quote.

Send photos and your Prosper address. Include the features you are considering.

02

Property review.

We assess roofline, stories, peaks, access, landscaping, and desired scope.

03

Site visit when needed.

Extensive trees, unusual access, or larger architectural scope may require a closer evaluation.

04

Quote & reserve.

Your custom quote is typically provided within 24 hours once we have what we need. A 50% deposit reserves your date.

05

Install, support, remove.

Installation is followed by in-season support and January removal.

PLAN YOUR PROSPER DISPLAY EARLY

More scope can mean more planning time.

Holiday installation dates are limited and scheduled on a first-available basis. For a larger or architecturally complex home, an early request gives more room for a real design conversation instead of compressing planning into a last-minute booking.

Review the complete roofline before selecting your scope.

Decide which peaks, columns, entries, and landscape features actually matter.

Allow time for a site visit when photos aren’t enough.

Protect your preferred installation date before the season fills.

BEFORE BOOKING

Five things worth confirming on a larger Prosper property.

A flat number can look simple. An accurate quote should tell you what that number actually includes.

Does the quote account for roofline length and complexity?

Square footage alone doesn’t tell you how much roofline there is or how complex the installation will be.

Are enough photos available for an accurate remote quote?

A single front photo may not show the full roofline or difficult access areas on a multi-story property.

Is the estimate really based on your property?

Ask whether the quoted scope reflects the actual roofline and architectural features rather than a generic per-linear-foot assumption.

Are you booking early enough?

Larger-scope projects benefit from more lead time for design, site evaluation, and scheduling.

Who owns the lighting after the season?

Confirm upfront whether you’re purchasing and keeping your lighting. If you’d rather not own it outright, ask about alternative options.
